I am an experienced primary school teacher who is currently teaching at a Prep school in Berkshire . I mainly tutor Key Stage 1 and lower Key Stage 2 students. I have a first class Honours degree and an MSc. I have a PGCE and have recently completed a sounds-write phonics training course. I have 3 children, 2 of them are graduates and 1 of them is currently studying at University.

Tutoring Experience

I have been teaching for 25 years and have been employed at my present school for 10 years . I have taught children of all abilities and stages of development. As I am currently teaching in a school, I have all the latest National Curriculum knowledge. I have recently been trained and assessed in a new phonics programme. I also teach Mathematics. I have experience of working with special educational needs children , including autism and dyslexia.

Tutoring Approach

My approach to teaching depends entirely on the needs of the student . What strategies work for one child may not work for another . I would listen to your concerns as a parent and involve you in whatever approach I think would be most appropriate. My lessons would be fun and engaging and I will be monitoring progress regularly. I am a mother of 3 children who have all learnt in different ways ( and all been to university) so am very aware of how as a parent we want our children to succeed but whilst enjoying their time in education and gaining confidence. Primary education is the foundation to everything and once the basics have been established, children will then be able to achieve their full potential.
I am available to tutor during school holidays. It is sometimes a long time for children to be away from the classroom and it is a good chance for them to catch up or keep their learning constant .
