This is how 2 referees rated Lee:
I am 41, married and a proud father of two lovely daughters. I enjoy keeping fit and have recently discovered running and the sense of achievement and pride one can get from it. I am an approachable person who enjoys the company of family and friends. I like to visit new places and try to make the most of what comes my way.
I am a languages teacher with 20 years teaching experience. I have worked in both state and Independent school settings and began teaching as a language assistant in Spain as part of my university course. On completing my PGCE I taught Spanish to GCSE and A Level for many years and I currently enjoy teaching languages in a primary school setting to 4 - 11 year olds. I also have experience in teaching adults who wish to improve their skills and develop their love of the language and country. I even have an official award from the Spanish Tourist Board and have led many educational tours to Spain teaching people aspects of the Spanish culture as well as the language.
I believe fun, enjoyment and confidence are the key elements of learning. It is imperative to teach in a variety of ways and establish the best learning style for each individual pupil exploring Visual, Auditory and Kinaesthetic methods of learning. By 'doing' a learner learns and remembers. My initial training as a language teacher as helped me to teach any subject as the approach to learning a language can be transferred to any discipline - 'Hear it, say it, see it, write it' approach. Teaching those key four skills of listening, speaking, reading and writing not only helps to cement learning in the 'communicative' methodology but helps build confidence in the language.Helping students overcome barriers to learning and making progress are the things I enjoy the most about teaching. I am genuinely passionate about Spanish and I too enjoy the challenge of mastering this beautiful language as you never ever stop learning a language.
