Hello, hola, bonjour! I am a native French speaker from Normandy and a fully qualified French and Spanish teacher with over 27 years' experience teaching both languages at GCSE, A-Level and beyond. I have a proven record of helping students achieve grades beyond their highest expectations, with many of my A-level students attaining Oxbridge places. In my teaching career half of that as Head of Spanish in a leading Grammar school in Buckinghamshire I have twice been personally commended by Ofsted with my lessons graded outstanding and was subsequently selected to deliver training courses on raising standards and improving grades in teaching. I have tutored French and Spanish to students of all ages and abilities, from primary school pupils to undergraduates and adults, with a particular focus on GCSE, iGCSE and A-level. I am a very enthusiastic, dynamic and passionate tutor whose main motivation is to help and guide my students through the process of learning a language and encourage them to reach their goals whilst enjoying the journey.
-I am a highly experienced French and Spanish teacher, having taught these through to A-level in both the State and Independent sector since 1995 and can provide tutoring in either language on a one-to-one or group basis as required.
-I worked 13 years as Head of Spanish in a leading grammar school for girls with a proven record of outstanding results at GCSE and A-level and am fully conversant with current course structures and examination requirements.
-I also teach French to native French children aged 7+ living in the UK in a specialist bilingual school on Saturdays and have tutored others of a similar age in a more general capacity.
-I am experienced in preparing students for the Eton CE examination in French, the King's Scholarship Examination, and the Westminster School 16+ Entrance Examination.
-I have thousands of hours' experience tutoring French and Spanish to students at pre-GCSE, GCSE, iGCSE, A-Level and beyond. All of my tutees have achieved excellent examination results, every single one attaining at least a grade higher than predicted, often more.
The quality that defines me most is probably the innate empathy I feel for my students whether they simply lack confidence or have deeper issues to deal with. Some of my students are highly academic, cope well with a rigorous approach, and essentially just require the extension and organisation of their knowledge on their way to an Oxbridge place. But we also live in an age where school and examination pressures are continuously rising and taking their toll on students confidence and mental health. I provide a relaxed, supportive and fun learning environment where all students will flourish and with each lesson individually constructed and entirely based on their personal needs and goals. The teaching material I offer is modern, innovative and engaging and encourages each student to actively participate in their own learning.
All tuition is currently being offered online as well as face-to-face.
