Private English and French Tutor in Rickmansworth

Secondary school teacher and University of Bristol Graduate offering 11+ Entrance Exams, Primary English, GCSE English and French tuition in Hertfordshire. I am an "Outstanding" rated qualified teacher in an "Outstanding" Ofsted rated school in Hertfordshire.

My pedagogical credentials are underpinned by my international teaching experience, including a tenure at the Lycée Saint Sernin in Toulouse, France. I also lead specialised focus groups designed to equip students for the rigors of the 11+ Entrance Exams. Furthermore, I provide guidance in phonics and foundational academic competencies for those children who are not yet of formal school age.

I prepare overseas students seeking admission to prestigious institutions such as Brighton College, Wycombe Abbey, Westminster School, and Charterhouse. I am currently facilitating a group class for students preparing for the CIE examination at Eton College.

My extensive background includes proficiency in preparing students for the UKiset and ISEB common assessments, reflecting a commitment to enabling students to reach their maximum potential. I firmly uphold the belief that the journey of learning should be engaging, fulfilling, and intellectually stimulating, and my tailored approach is geared toward realising this ideal.

For added convenience, I also offer early morning and daytime sessions.

Tutoring Experience

I currently teach English, French, and Religious Studies (including Philosophy and Ethics) at secondary level in Hertfordshire. I have taught English as a Foreign Language to adults and children, in England and also abroad.
I prepare students for mid year assessments or 11+ and 14+ transition.

I have a wide client base overseas, and my services are sought to assist these students in their preparations for entrance examinations in the United Kingdom, as well as to enhance their readiness for the interviews integral to this procedure. Parents engage my services to facilitate the development of their children's English language proficiency and bolster their confidence in using the language effectively.

My approach includes a comprehensive assessment of students' current proficiency levels, enabling me to offer valuable feedback to their families. I conduct mock interviews, and upon request, I provide each family with a detailed report summarising the outcomes of these practice interviews.

I have lived and worked in France and taught English at both primary and secondary level. Notably, I continue to oversee focus groups tailored to equip students for the 11+ Entrance Examinations, demonstrating a sustained commitment to educational excellence.
