I am a friendly, caring and patient teacher who has worked as a primary school teacher for 17 years. I have held the position of year leader for 12 years in key stage 2 and am very organised, efficient and dedicated. I have taught across Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2 and have experience in all subjects across Primary Key Stages. I am committed to getting results and have extensive knowledge regarding primary education. I have vast training and experience in teaching pupils with learning difficulties and SEN and have a range of approaches and techniques in order to motivate and engage pupils. By using a variety of hooks to engage learners, understanding and progress is ensured.. I am an approachable and passionate teacher who believes that learning can be fun and accessible for all pupils.
I have tutored pupils for the 11 plus for 15 years and have a very high success rate.
I am available for both home tutoring and online tutoring. I have tutored a number of pupils throughout the Corona Virus outbreak via Zoom and it has worked extremely well.

Tutoring Experience

I have been a primary school teacher at an outstanding school for 18 years. I have taught throughout key stage 1 and 2 throughout my career and have been tutoring for 17 years. Throughout this time, I have tutored in Maths, English (reading and writing) as well as 11 plus exams. I have had experience of teaching pupils with SEN as well as gifted and able pupils. I have supported a number of pupils who have struggled with reading, writing and maths and as a result these pupils have made good progress. I have been trained in various initiatives such as 'Every child a writer', reading partnerships, Literacy Counts and White Rose maths. I have a wide range of resources that I use to hook and motivate learners, providing a range of strategies to enable concepts to be understood and to build confidence in pupils.

Tutoring Approach

I am kind, patient and committed. I believe that every child should have the right to a good education and I am trained in working with a variety of different needs as well as mainstream pupils. I believe that pupils should be supported in the best way possible in order to get the most out of their education. I am dedicated to helping pupils achieve their goals. I use a range of strategies in my lessons that suit each pupil's needs and tailor my sessions to suit the individual. I ensure that learning is fun and motivating, ensuring that progress is made.
