Are you searching for a tutor who understands your unique learning style? Let's personalize our approach and uncover the methods that work best for you! (1st session is FREE)

Hi! My name is Lara Removedand I am currently a final-year student of Aeronautical Engineering at Imperial College London. As a STEM student, I am passionate about science and discovering how its challenging concepts apply to real-life situations.  In my spare time, I lead a rocketry society to help students bridge the gap between theory and hands-on practical knowledge. I'm a friendly and approachable tutor who believes in creating a comfortable learning environment where you can ask questions freely and feel supported throughout our journey.

I believe lessons should be anything but boring. From creative challenges to quirky mnemonics, let’s make learning as fun as a rollercoaster ride! In order to improve my own learning experience and become a better student, I researched different learning techniques and approaches. These helped me turn studying into a more engaging and enjoyable experience. I'm excited to share these effective methods with you, helping you unlock your full potential and achieve your educational and life goals. Get ready to level up your skills, learn to embrace mistakes and celebrate every milestone we conquer together!

To ensure that we're a perfect fit and that you feel confident in our learning journey together, I offer the first session for free. It's an opportunity to get to know each other, discuss your goals, and experience my teaching style firsthand.

Tutoring Experience

My interest and experience with teaching started early on, back in primary school, when my teacher encouraged me to help and tutor other students. Even after finishing primary school, I would join her class as an 'assistant' during my free time and take the opportunity to learn the principles of teaching from the master herself. Since then, I have had the opportunity to tutor friends and family members in various subjects, including mathematics and sciences. Besides excellent grades, my tutees' achievements include the "Excellence Roll" and "Inspiring Student" awards.

As the oldest sibling, I had the privilege of being a tutor and mentor to my younger sisters. From teaching them their first words to assisting them in achieving excellent grades throughout school, this experience honed my ability to connect with students of all ages, foster their enthusiasm for learning, and tailor my teaching style to their individual needs.

As psychology has always been of interest to me, I have read a lot about the mind and how one learns in my spare time. To further enhance my teaching skills, I have recently embarked on a course in Coaching, which has provided me with valuable insights into motivation, goal-setting, and empowering others. Additionally, my academic pursuits at university, including the module 'The Science of Learning,' have equipped me with evidence-based approaches to facilitate effective learning and academic success.

Drawing upon my own experiences as a lifelong learner, I am dedicated to sharing my knowledge and skills with students who aspire to improve their grades and perform better at school!

Tutoring Approach

Drawing upon the rich history of learning techniques developed over thousands of years, I integrate the latest insights from neuroscience and psychology to create a holistic approach to tutoring. By understanding the science behind learning and considering the emotional aspects, we can unlock your full potential and make the learning experience more effective and enjoyable.

I understand that every student has a unique learning style and pace. Together, we'll tailor our approach to you, in order to ensure tutoring is always fun, engaging and is using your personal strengths to full advantage.

My goal is to help you reach your academic goals and improve your understanding of STEM topics. With my engineering background, I bring a practical perspective to teaching. I strive to connect theoretical concepts to real-life applications, helping you grasp the relevance of STEM subjects and enhancing your understanding of the material.

I value commitment, creativity and believe that if studying feels tiresome or like a struggle, it is just because you haven’t found an approach that works for you. As someone who has been there and has had to cope with special learning difficulties, I understand the frustrations and obstacles that can arise during the learning journey. The good news is that with a little push and guidance, remarkable progress can be made. Book a trial session with me, and let’s embark on this journey towards improving your study skills together :)
