I am a postgraduate and an enthusiastic tutor. My success lies in promoting students' interest in the subjects I teach and their improved results and excellent grades in the exams are a bonus.
I have been tutoring from past 13 years in the following subjects: 11+ and 13+ entrance exams, A levels, GCSE and KS3 Maths, GCSE and KS3 Physics and Chemistry. Along with full-time tutoring, I also run intensive revision courses for GCSE and IGCSE Mathematics and Sciences. I am self motivated and also create enthusiasm and interest on the subjects in pupils.
From previous 13 years, I have been tutoring for all the subjects above.
11+: Tutored for Henrietta Barnett, Independent schools consortium, Watford Consortium, Slough Consortium, Buckinghamshire consortium, Haberdashers, St.Albans consortium, Kendrick School and Reading school. I also run group courses, workshops and mock exams for 11plus students. Well-versed with CEM, GL and Independent formats of 11+ testing.
A-levels Maths: Tutored for AQA, OCR and Edexcel boards
GCSE and IGCSE: GCSE and IGCSE Maths and three Sciences in AQA, OCR and Edexcel boards.
I currently run 3-day and 5-day intensive revision courses (HALC - High Achievers Learning Centre) for GCSE, IGCSE and 11plus Matheamtics.
Working as a part-time teacher at the moment. I have also assisted adult students to give exams to become Kumon instructors.
I also taught various topics in computer science to professionals as well as children. I keep my knowledge up-to-date by subscribing to various educational sites. I review my teaching resources periodically and enhance them to improve learning of my students.
I aim to create a friendly and amicable environment for tutee which maximises student's learning potential. For A levels and GCSEs, I will go through all the topics and exam techniques in each topic. Students will get related work to do at home, so that the knowledge gained in the sessions is consolidated. And finally, we will go through the past exam papers of specific examination board. For 11plus, I conduct an assessment initially to get the idea of the child's level in the subject concerned. I understand the aims of the parents and tutees which they want to achieve through tutoring. Then, I adapt the tutoring approach based on their current level and aims. I can chalk out the approach and schedule and go through with the parents and child. We will use the past papers/questions as much as possible. I also review the approach based the child's progress. I conduct assessments periodically and keep the parents informed on the child's progress.
As I myself am interested in academics and am self motivated, I create motivation and interest for studies in tutees. I have got good resource materials on subjects and also I keep myself up-to-date on all my subjects. I am good at creating my questions and projects to test tutee's knowledge and understanding on the topics taught.
