Private Maths and Geography Tuition in Wallsend

I am energetic and enthusiastic with good analytical, design and problem solving skills and I’m committed to achievement and continuous development of students of all levels, I have been tutor and a teacher for 18 years. I have two degrees one in Geography and then later in life went back to University to study Computer Science.
I value and respect the students and believe that educational development is only part of their all round personal and social growth. Increasingly young people leaving school must be multi-skilled. I will be able to bring new ideas such a brain storming, mind mapping and various other enigmatic ideas to help with the progression of the student on all courses. I also have experience working with students with special needs and have done a lot work with Gateshead council with students in the carer system. I have also work for the exam boards for the last 8 years, currently I am Lead Examiner with Edexcel for Computing

Tutoring Experience

My past experience has shown that I have well developed teaching strategies. Over the past 18 years I have successfully taught A Level Computing and Computer Science, GCSE Computing, Applied ICT, AVCE, GNVQ, GCSE, DIDA courses and KS3 and 4 Maths. I have also demonstrated good practice using my knowledge and insight from working for exam boards, to help students with progression of the GNVQ, GCSE Geography, Computing and Computer Science and Applied ICT courses. My main areas are Hypermedia (Web Development, PHP, CSS, principles of Web Usability), System Analysis, Computer Architecture, Python and Networks. I also have extensive experience teaching maths, especially with underperforming students to GCSE level.

Tutoring Approach

To help students’ understand the subject content, and apply this understanding to solve problems and questions in coursework and exam papers. For those studying A’ Levels it is important to help them prepare for life at University or work, such essential skills are required for next level such as independent learning, problem solving and leadership skills. With GCSE and A'level I have helped develop individual talents and facilitate them to gain a high level of understanding. One to one tuition provides such an environment which nurtures there development
