Hello! Thank you for taking the time to stop by my profile. My name is Kerry and I am a qualified Primary Teacher with 12 years experience. I currently teach Year 4 in a lovely Bristol Primary School, and I have also taught across the KS1 and KS2 National Curriculum.

I am a super friendly, patient and positive person and I like my students to feel relaxed so that learning can take place.

Tutoring Experience

I have been teaching in primary schools for the last 12 years and have taught in years 2, 3, 4, 5 and 6. I have taught so many wonderful children, each with their own learning needs: for example those with SEN and those who are Gifted and Talented. I have supported many children through their Year 2 and Year 6 SATs, ensuring that they achieve the results that they truly deserve. Building children's confidence in their own abilities is something that I do each and every day.

Before I became a teacher, I spent 2 years tutoring children aged 5-16 in maths and English and I loved helping each child to reach their goals.

Tutoring Approach

Getting to know my students is my first priority; building positive relationships is the key to successful learning. Children learn best when they feel comfortable and safe, so that's exactly the atmosphere that I strive to create during our sessions. Learning will be fun, interactive and engaging. I am happy to offer a free 10 minute initial meeting (online) so that we can get to know one another prior to the first tutoring session.

I will work alongside you and your child to identify key areas of learning to focus on within our sessions. I will regularly revisit concepts to address the 'forgetting curve' and I will provide you with feedback about your child's progress. I will also check in with your child throughout the session to see if there is anything in particular that they would like to work on: for example, if they have struggled with a certain area of maths in school that week, we can spend some time working through this together to squash any worries that they may have developed.
