MY SERVICES ✔️

I offer tutoring for a wide age range and tutor on a variety of topics. My main areas of focus are Law and Critical Thinking Skills (University) and English and Maths for KS1 and KS2 (Primary School). See here for more details:

♦️ UNIVERSITY LEVEL (Undergraduate and Postgraduate) ♦️

⭕ Law: I privately tutor in Law in the following topics: EU Law, Equity and Trusts, Criminal Law, Criminal Justice, Contract Law, The English Legal System, Land Law, Tort Law, Company Law and much more!

⭕ Dissertations: I support students in planning, exploring research ideas, and developing their writing for their dissertations. I have supported over 300+ students in this area. I am also an author of the book 'Plan your Research Project' which supports students in writing their dissertations.

I have been studying Law since I was 14, therefore, I have the experience and knowledge of how the subject is taught across various levels. I have also written a Dissertation on Domestic Violence as part of my degree, therefore, giving me extra knowledge of the defences to murder which comes under criminal law.

⭕ Academic Skill Development: I am aware of different methods of learning and I'm happy to assist in Study skills which range from critical thinking, reflection, referencing, and academic writing. This is useful for coursework/dissertations and exam preparation.

Tutoring Experience

MY EXTENSIVE ACCOMPLISHMENTS ✔️

⭕ I have tutored over 300+ students all over the UK from various backgrounds and abilities.

⭕ I am currently an Independent Academic Consultant and Tutor and I have expertise in teaching Law and Education in Further Education and Higher Education Institutions on degree-level programmes. This means my role is not a side business and is my main role.

⭕ I am a firm believer in ensuring that students understand assessment learning outcomes and often incorporate developmental points into my sessions.

⭕ I have a wide variety of teaching expertise in lecturing and Academic Skill Support in Higher Education (L4-7). I also have experience in teaching on the Research Project for a PGCE programme at Level 7.

⭕ I have worked as an Academic Practice Advisor lecturing and teaching academics on educational theory, practice, methods of learning, teaching, and advising on technological resources. I've previously been an Educational Consultant and a research mentor and supervisor on the PGCAP programme and module leader for the educational enquiry research project module. I run my own business as an Academic Consultant, Tutor, and Coach.

WHAT SETS ME APART? ✔️

⭕ My research area is critical thinking and I offer specialist support from age 5 and beyond on how to develop these skills through coaching methods. I have also completed an Advanced Tutoring Programme which provides me with the skills and guidance to support students to excel in their learning.

⭕ Furthermore, I am also an author of the book 'Plan your Research Project' which supports students in writing their dissertations or research project. I have also contributed a chapter to the book '100 Ideas for Active Learning.'

⭕ I am bi-lingual and also speak Gujarati and would be happy to help students with any difficulty understanding English.

Tutoring Approach

SUPPORTIVE AND RESULTS FOCUSED ✔️

⭕ I believe that every student is different. We all learn in a variety of ways and have distinct approaches to learning. My aim is to discuss the method of learning that is most suited to each individual whether that is visually (using diagrams), bullet pointing, using cue cards, adopting a traditional method, or a mixture. I then adapt my style to my students’ needs.

⭕ I am very patient and believe that breaking down the different areas of the subject is important so it is easier to digest and understand. A method that is helpful and useful should be adopted for each individual. With this in mind, I aim to aid the student to succeed with his/her learning.

⭕ For primary students, I also provide individual learning plans upon request to parents to track progress after each session. I like to keep parents up to date and informed on their child's tutoring journey. We usually have a chat 5 minutes before the end of each session. Communication is important. I also focus on key areas for development put forward by teachers if the parents are happy with this approach.

⭕ Finally, the icing on the cake is that I offer a completely FREE audit of your skills so we have a starting point to build on. I have developed this very bespoke resource over the last 10 years.
