I’m a passionate and committed teacher who has a determination to help children achieve their potential. I’ve been a teacher for many years and also work in the area of promoting positive mental health which is an area I’m hugely passionate about.
In my spare time, I love to read and bake, as well as spending time with family and friends.
For many years I’ve worked in schools teaching across the Key Stages - right from Key Stage 2 through to Key Stage 5. Much of my work focuses on mainstream classroom teaching where I’ve worked in a variety of classroom settings, both primary and secondary. I also worked for several years for the LEA providing intervention packages to help pupils make maximum progress across academic areas. I also was responsible for devising and delivering mental health support for the classroom. In these sessions, I would focus both on academic areas, as well as promoting areas, such as, positive self-esteem and confidence work to go hand-in-hand with academic progress.
As a mum and a teacher, I have a patient and caring attitude. I firmly believe that a positive attitude reaps rewards and that every child should be encouraged to adopt an ‘I can’ attitude to learning. I’m also a huge believer that all children are unique and develop at different times and this is something that underpins my own personal view of education and every child’s development. I use the Pomodoro technique which breaks activities down into achievable chunks which optimises progress and the young persons belief that they are able to achieve.
