Hello learners of all ages and stages. I am a native German speaker who loves languages and teaches German, English and French. I have lived in the UK since 2003 and made sharing my experience in languages and culture my business - literally. Outside business and teaching I love walking anywhere from Wales to the Lakes and across to Northumberland before dropping down to the Norfolk Broads. Being out on the motorbike is more of a summer thing as is reading on the patio with my cat next to me enjoying a bit of sunny warmth.
My part-time teaching in schools and within my language business means I have plenty of experience across all ages and languages, I tailor to individual needs and I can deliver anything from 'exams are coming up' to 'we are going on holiday' and 'the business expo is in a few weeks'. It is vital to understand your requirements and to meet your needs. Getting to know you and your learning style will help in achieving your goal and I tailor lessons to what is best for you. My first lesson was delivered at thee age of 14 when my English was good enough to help fellow pupils and I never lost my passion for tutoring and opening doors through languages. Making you comfortable in your knowledge and giving you the confidence to use it is key. Passing that dreaded exam? Yes, you can. Making the most of your holiday abroad? By all means. Working towards the next business deal? I offer a service from language to marketing, just ask.
It's very straight forward: getting to know you and your learning style and understanding what you want to achieve in what time frame. Deciding on material used in lessons to location and times. Reliability and punctuality are a given and I would expect the same from you. Tutoring can be on a 1-to-1 basis, you can learn with school mates, colleagues, friends. You can learn at home, in a library or occasionally even out walking. The most effective way of learning is through a mix of Skype-based and face to face. Being comfortable is the key to developing confidence and my studies of educational science and psychology in conjunction with SEN give me the knowledge and understanding that is required to make you the best you can be. I don't believe in lists of vocabulary, learning monkey-fashion or harping on about grammar. All in its place but only as much as necessary. Learning a language can actually be fun. Try it.
