Ka Lam

Ka-lam (Karen) is currently based in North London, before that she was a practising speech therapist in an international non-governmental organisation (NGO) in Hong Kong for more than 5 years. Upon graduating with the degree of Bachelor of Arts in Linguistics and Language Technology, Karen started working on her Master of Speech Therapy in Hong Kong Polytechnic University and and has been working with clients since 2016 with different needs, including language, articulation, voice, fluency, and swallowing disorders. She was appointed as Honorary Clinical Supervisor in PolyU in 2019 and has recently expanded her clinical interest in bilingualism, clinical education, and emergent literacy. Karen is currently working on speech synthesis as a researcher and linguist in a multinational technology company in London, and she is also recently qualified as an HCPC-Registered Speech and Language Therapist.

Tutoring Experience

Practising paediatric speech therapist in Hong Kong for more than 5 years, working with children with various educational needs, including but not limited to, speech sound disorder, developmental language disorder, fluency disorder, voice disorder; Karen was also appointed as clinical supervisor of master of speech therapy students for 2 years.
