I have been a primary school teacher for over 30 years and I have taught in London, Birmingham and Worcester. I have taught all year groups from reception to year 6. I am passionate that all children can succeed with the right support . I aim to make my lessons engaging, relevant and fun, specifically geared towards the child's needs. I have been a tutor for three years and in that time I have taught all ages groups from reception to year 8.
I started my career in London where I lead Science in my school and then specialised in teaching SEN children in small groups in schools with disadvantaged children. After ten years, I moved to Worcester where I taught at RGS The Grange for 13 years and in that time was Head of English and RE and PHSE. I taught in Birmingham for two years where I became Maths lead across two schools. Then I moved to Pershore and taught Reception for three years. In my final two years at Pershore, I taught Year 6 and was Head of Maths and Science across the school. I am currently supporting year 6 children in schools with their SATS preparation alongside my individual tutoring.
I adopt an holistic approach while teaching, considering emotional as well as educational needs, especially in these unsettling times. I believe that success is all about a belief and confidence within the child. Each child is unique and I develop their bespoke programme of learning to progress the child to confidently master ideas they initially find tricky. I plan fun, engaging and pacy lessons.
