I am a friendly and enthusiastic Ofsted (2022) ‘Outstanding’ A Level English teacher with a wealth of tried and tested bespoke resources for both A Level and GCSE Englishes. Having led the English Department at Greenhead College, I have extensive experience in supporting students across a range of abilities. I provide additional support for students, supplementing their studies in the classroom, but also deliver fast track independent courses, for learners on alternative learning pathways.
Tutoring Experience
I have taught English for 20 years and currently teach A Level English Language and A Level Combined English, in addition to GCSE Language and Literature.
My subject specialism is A Level English Language. Last year 95% students attained an A* - B.
Tutoring Approach
My key approach is to teach through context, so you will be learning through the study of written and spoken texts, rather than learning abstract concepts without practical application. We will be working with an extensive range of tried and tested resources, including past papers, mark schemes and model answers and you’ll receive detailed weekly feedback on tasks.
