I am an experienced and successful tutor. I am a fully qualified teacher and have a higher, master’s degree, as well as a degree in Chemistry. I have done research at university and in industry and have always been fascinated with science, having studied biology, chemistry and physics at university. Philosophy is another of my interests, because I want to understand the world we live in, and to find solutions to the issues facing society in the future. I have applied my knowledge and skills to working as a teacher and doing research at university and in R&D (research and development) in an international company. Now, I want to help others achieve their aims. Science and maths can be intimidating subjects if taught in the wrong way, and I hope that my approach stimulates and encourages my students to take the challenge of learning these subjects successfully.
More than 10 years experience as a teacher and private tutor in biology, chemistry, physics and mathematics. I tutor chemistry and biology A level, physics to AS level, and mathematics to GCSE. I have researched chemistry related topics and the life sciences, both at university and in international companies. I am an experienced and fully qualified teacher with a PGCE (postgraduate certificate in education) and registered with the the General Teaching Council of Wales.
I motivate my students to achieve to the best of their ability, initially assessing their level to find their strengths and areas to improve. A firm foundation is established based on the student's learning style, and on which to build knowledge and understanding of the subject. My experience of science both in research and in teaching, and my enthusiasm for the subject, means I can offer a quality learning experience, and I nurture the confidence of my students' ensuring they exceed their expectations in exam grades.
