Maths and Physics Tutoring in Barry

I am an experienced and successful tutor. I have a degree in Chemistry and a research higher degree. I have always been fascinated with Science, and have studied Biology, Chemistry and Physics at university level. Philosophy is another of my interests, because I want to understand the world we live in, and to find solutions to the issues facing modern society. I have applied my knowledge to working in industrial research, and I now want to help others to achieve their aims. Science and maths can be intimidating subjects if taught in the wrong way, and I hope that my approach stimulates and encourages my students to take the challenge of learning these subjects successfully.

Tutoring Experience

Fully qualified teacher with a PGCE and registered with the General Teaching Council of Wales. Currently doing supply teaching in secondary schools in Wales as a specialist in chemistry and science, teaching at KS3, KS4 and A level. Extensive experience as a private tutor in biology, chemistry, physics and maths at KS3 and GCSE. I tutor chemistry to AS/A2, and biology, physics to AS level.

Tutoring Approach

I motivate my students to achieve to the best of their ability, initially assessing their level to find their strengths and areas to improve. A firm foundation is established based on the student's learning style, and on which to build knowledge and understanding of the subject. My experience of science both in research and in teaching, and my enthusiasm for the subject, means I can offer a quality learning experience, and I nurture the confidence of my students' ensuring they exceed their expectations in exam grades.
