Julia Jane. MA, BA (hons), DTTLS Level 6 Teaching Qualification
Arts Educator
I have detailed knowledge of the Edexcel Art and Design and History of Art A-level Syllabus. And the AQA, Edexcel Art and Design A-level. I work with the learner, on clarifying what is required by the exam board assessment criteria. And as learner knowledge deepens, a strong understanding of the arts and art in context grows, culminating in achieving great results.
Having built a career in education and training, I have developed a vibrant and busy arts education practice. This began in Barcelona where I set up 'The English Art School'. And today continues in London and in Ramsgate Kent.
I lecture in Adult Education in History of Art and Drawing at the renowned Morley College, London. I give educational talks and lectures as guest Art Historian, to organisations, including the WI and The Wandsworth Society. For two years I have been presenting the popular 'VOICES on ART' to a keen audience, who partake in exciting discussions on art, architecture and art history.
For online learning, I use a professional platform that offers an enhanced experience. Your session can be recorded, at your request, for recap. I enjoy online tutoring it is flexible and fun. And perfect for history of art where we share images and develop visual awareness and analysis.
I believe that embracing all aspects of a subject, brings it to life and improves experience and outcome. I develop learner self-belief and equip you with the tools needed for future or more advanced learning.
Our sessions can take place at Art School degree shows, open artist studios and in art galleries and specialist art libraries. The best understanding being gained by engaging first hand with the art works, artists sketchbooks and letters and meeting artists in person.
There is no right or wrong way to learn, but it is certainly important to enjoy the experience and embrace the subject along the way to success.
