Jude

I am a highly experienced tutor of English at Key Stages 3, 4 and 5 and also tutor Drama at all levels. My tutoring sessions take place in my own home in a designated teaching space. I am also an author and have published four novels and many short stories - under the name Jude Hayland.
I teach English mainly on a one to one basis - age range 11 to 18 - and Drama, preparing students for examinations at all levels.

Tutoring Experience

I have taught and tutored students for many years at secondary level in English Language, Literature, Drama and Creative Writing and have achieved exemplary results for my students. After years of classroom teaching, I now work with individuals and small groups to deliver personalised lessons fostered around the students' needs.
From Key Stage 3, through GCSE and A level, I offer crucial exam technique as well as key subject knowledge. My love for language and literature and my extensive knowledge of poetry, drama and novels ensures that I can serve all students' needs.
I have also successfully supported many applicants in their auditions for drama school.

I have a friendly, informal yet structured approach to tutoring.
I am happy to devise courses to suit specific needs or to focus entirely on areas where students believe they are struggling. Passionate about my subject, I believe I can engage and enthuse with all students - raising their level of expectation, achievement and broadening their appreciation and expertise. I provide any and all materials needed and keep up to date with all current changes and developments in the syllabuses of the exam boards. I welcome initial discussion of requirements in order to ensure that I am the right person to engage and inspire the student!
