I am a teacher of English at a secondary school. Previously, I worked, taught, and studied at the University of Glasgow, where I obtained my PhD in English Literature.
I have experience across all levels of higher education and am passionate about being an inclusive and engaging practitioner, one who prioritises my students’ wellbeing. I have expertise in working with students with Additional Support Needs, including autism, dyslexia, and dyspraxia. Importantly, I have a proven track record of guiding pupils through their senior phase exams. I have extensive knowledge of the curriculum and will be able to make sure you feel confident, capable, and prepared for your examinations in English.
I am here to offer support to students studying at National 5, Higher, and Advanced Higher English. I can also assist college and university students, as I have taught (and marked) at both honours and pre-honours level. My areas of expertise are in English, but I have worked as a tutor and lecturer in pre-honours Theology. Finally, I am a writer, who has published in a myriad of journals and a smattering of literary magazines.
