My first priority as a tutor is build rapport with my student. I often find that students have lost their confidence or motivation and building a good relationship is the key to getting that back. I am very enthusiastic and knowledgeable about Psychology and Sociology. I have experience tutoring a wide range of students including independent learners, adult learners and A level students who need a bit of extra help to get the grade they need for uni!

Tutoring Experience

I qualified as a teacher in 2003 and began tutoring in 2013. I have taught a wide range of specifications for both Psychology and Sociology and I am a senior examiner on two papers for AQA and a senior examiner for CIE. In my role as senior examiner, as well as marking hundreds of exam oapers myself, I over see a team of markers and re mark exam papers post results. My extensive examining experience allows me to give students an inside track on how exams are marked and the range of questions they can be asked.

Tutoring Approach

My approach is very student focused. I can plan a tutoring schedule to work to or can be lead by the student. I can cover subject material, exam techniques and study skills. I am friendly and reliable. I have a history of helping my students improve their grade by as many as 4 grades!
