I am a primary school teacher in Westminster, teaching year 4. I am easy-going, but hard-working when it comes to my studies. I have always enjoyed helping others, and have taken that into my job as a teacher. I am a keen sportsman (football, hockey, tennis and others), and I am willing to give most things a try!
This year I am studying a Master's degree in Mathematics education part-time in addition to teaching.
I have recently started working at a school in Westminster after two years working in Waltham Forest as a year 5 class teacher, having studied to become a teacher at Plymouth University, where I also spent a lot of time on placements in a range of schools in which I have taught extensively across the range of subjects. Between my time spent at university and the beginning of my current job, I taught in a British school in Santiago, Chile which offered me a fantastic, alternative viewpoint of education.
I also tutored a number of my course mates at university, who struggled with maths, to assist them in exams and on school placements. Prior to beginning my teaching degree I spent a number of days in schools as work experience, too.
I can be flexible in my approach, whether you are aiming to achieve the highest grade at A-Level or GCSE and want very focused tutor sessions, or are looking to deepen your understanding in the subject. Furthermore, I can provide a boost to someone who is not achieving as highly as they would like, or needs a final push to get the grade they desire.
I also aim to make what I teach enjoyable, and I will look to make things easy to relate to for my tutees. I hope that by enabling my tutees to have fun when learning, they will then become even more self motivated to help themselves in addition to our tutor sessions.
