Hello. My name is Jo and I have been a teacher for 15 years and rated outstanding by Ofsted. I decided to take a career break from teaching full time in schools when I found out I was pregnant with twins who were born September 2017. As I love teaching and do not want to fully give up my passion I have decided to privately tutor until I return to teaching in schools.
I have worked in three secondary schools and in my last job I was a Head of PE for 4 years. I have taught ages 11-18 throughout my career, including KS2, KS3, GCSE, A Level and BTEC Sport. I have also worked as an examiner for both AQA and Edexcel so have an in-depth understanding of the exam syllabus and common misconceptions. Having worked with pupils of all abilities I am able to meet the needs of all learners. I have a consistent track record of significantly improving students results and instilling confidence.
I am experienced in a wide range of subjects due to the nature of my degree and teaching experience. I trained in a number of subjects and have had experience of teaching them throughout my career. I have also privately tutored a range of subjects. I am experienced at working with all abilities and I am very friendly and approachable and will immediately put students at ease.
