I have two sons and two rescue dogs, and love gardening and walking.
I have worked in Education for 30 years, the majority of this time with children and young people experiencing difficulties with their speech and language skills. I have an up-to-date knowledge and understanding of the demands of the National Curriculum, and the skills and knowledge required to enable children to become successful in phonics, reading and spelling.
I believe children can learn to celebrate their succes, and develop their resilience to become independent learners. By working together to identify their strengths and difficulties, and making explicit the knowledge and skills involved with reading and spelling, children can become active and confident learners. My approach is practical and fun, supportive and appropriately challenging.
