I am a fully qualified teacher who has taught geography at schools in the south west for 11 years. I have spent the last 3 years tutoring a number of students at GCSE and A Level successfully. I am friendly and patient and students can talk to me with ease. I enjoy working with young people and helping them to achieve their best.
I have taught geography for the past 11 years covering KS3-KS5. I am confident teaching a wide variety of geographical topics and have good knowledge of both GCSE and A Level specifications. In more recent years I have focused on teaching A Level through my private tutoring and work at a private college. I have a good understanding of OCR, AQA and Edexcel specifications at A Level. During my time as a teacher I have helped many students achieve excellent GCSE and A Level exam results. Alongside teaching geography, I have been a form tutor for A Level students and have a good understanding of UCAS and how to help students with University and Higher Education applications. My most recent A Level tutees achieved very highly in the units I tutored them. With all achieving at least 3 grades higher than they started with in their units. All my tutees achieved A or B grades overall for their geography A Level after tutoring sessions.
I believe students thrive when they feel comfortable and confident. I am patient and friendly and build good relationships with the students I work with. I cater for the needs of each individual student and adapt lessons and resources to best help them. As part of my tutoring, I work alongside student's schoolwork and follow exam specifications to ensure the correct content is covered. My lessons and activities are varied and engaging and I use practice exam questions to help build student confidence. I understand the importance of helping students to achieve the best they can.
