Jay

Hi, my name is Jay and I am an experienced tutor with 100% positive feedback. I have a Research Masters in International Relations and Security from the University of Liverpool; a BA in Politics and International Relations from Queen Mary, University of London; A-Levels in English Literature, History and Religious Studies and 9 GCSEs, including an A in Maths, English Literature and English Language. I am able to teach a variety of academic subjects at varying levels up to A-Level. I am a recipient of the 2020 Mile End Institute Research Prize, and have published works on Sino-US relations and Russia's role in international relations.

I believe that the best way to learn is through doing and this is why I encourage all of my students to realise their full potential through fun and engaging activities which help you to learn and retain information. Whatever stage you are at in your academic journey, I can guarantee that I am the perfect tutor for you!

Tutoring Experience

I have experience mentoring and tutoring undergraduate students; teaching GCSE English Language and Literature across Eduqas, AQA, Edexcel and OCR exam boards; teaching English as a second language to Russian, Chinese, Korean, Japanese and Hungarian students; teaching History, RE and English to Key Stage 2 - GCSE children; teaching 1-2-1 high school and group high school student classes. I have a Level 1 qualification in Foundations in Learning and Teaching in Higher Education (FLTHE) as a university teacher.

Tutoring Approach

Every person is unique, and therefore every lesson must be structured differently and with this in mind. However, the most effective method of learning is one that is exciting, engaging and that makes the subject interesting, no matter the students' level of knowledge.
