I am a specialist Mathematics tutor, and have taught for the last twelve years, having retrained as a Mathematics teacher, since gaining a First class Hons degree . I aim to increase a student's confidence in maths. I am lucky in that I have always thought of maths as just doing puzzles, and like to have a fun approach including many visuals. I am a strong believer that if you can 'see' the maths you will remember it.
I have taught in various types of schools, at all secondary year levels
I have a very practical yet sympathetic approach to tutoring, tailoring the speed and level to the individual.
I love maths and wish to pass my enthusiasm on - and believe that when people understand, then they are happy to do maths. I have had good feedback, quite a few 'lightbulb' moments, students saying 'oh - I really like algebra now !!', aswell as good exam results, and students regularly going from bottom to top of their class.
For exam preparation I use past papers from a huge resource of materials - from all exam boards. For GCSE, IGCSE and A level.
I have recently published a visual maths book 100%Proof! The Why of Maths, available on amazon
This book is in line with my teaching methods, explaining simply with use of visuals the formulas and concepts needed for GCSE and A level mathematics.

She’s extremely available, scrupulous and caring and my son enjoys his lessons with her.
I’m sure she’ll be of great support over the next few months to help regain my son’s confidence in his abilities in math.
I highly recommend her.
Thankyou so much - yes it was always a pleasure to teach Kareish - and well done for his Gold medal, taking the maths challenge a year early!
Adam gained 2 A's in his maths exams… Thanks Jane for all your help.
