I love mathematics, particularly problem solving. I am a teacher of this subject because I want to support young people become great problem solvers of the future. I know how important mathematics is, because it gave me two great jobs: chartered accountant and then maths teacher.

Tutoring Experience

I have two years of teaching experience, including taking Year 11 through the rigorous GCSE examinations. I am a qualified chartered accountant with 6 years in industry. I have worked with many Year 11 students, supporting them with both Higher and Foundation papers.

Tutoring Approach

I take a mastery approach to teaching maths. I know how fast paced classroom teaching can be, so the purpose of my tutoring sessions is:
1) to allow your child the time to ask questions about what they struggle with
2) identify weak areas that I can then reteach and provide homework on to practice
3) challenge the child so that they can reach their potential in the subject
