I have 18 years experience teaching to GCSE and A Level and have spent the majority of this time teaching in Further Education after initially beginning my career in a Staffordshire High School. More recently I have been Head of Spanish and then Modern Languages in Sixth Form Colleges in Shropshire and Staffordshire. I have a passion for Langauages and the cultural and linguistic elements to my subject are of equal importance in my drive to pass this passion and enthusiasm on to my learners. having lived and worked in Spain, I am well-placed to do this. I have recently moved back to concentrating solely on my teaching as this is of greater interest to me after several years of combining my teaching with management responsibility.
1998-present. Teacher of Spanish and French to GCSE and A Level. Roles have included Subject Co-ordinator, Head of Subject and Head of Department.
I adopt a focussed approach to tutoring which seeks to support the needs of individuals as a result of continued assessment, checking of learning and needs analysis. In addition, I am a strong believer in ensuring that learners complete work independently and on a regular basis to boost their interest and confidence in my subjects through focusessed and targeted resources.
