Ranulph Tees Testimonial
James has tutored many clients through our agency, as well as representing the company as a teacher on one of our online classes (Year 3 Maths and English). His work through us has focused on 11+ Maths and English.
James’ work has always conducted been to an exceptionally high standard. He always prepares his lessons in advance of each tutorial, performs his teaching with great enthusiasm and adept skill, and provides meticulously written feedback to parents after each session.
His administration and communication have been superb, and he builds an excellent rapport with his students. Feedback from parents has always been of consistently high praise, and the impression left on his students is one of delight.
Student Testimonials
“James is a very good teacher because he goes at the right pace for the class, lets everybody speak and I love his extension activities because they are interesting.” - Georgina, student, age 8.
“I like James' classes because if you get something wrong, he takes you through it and helps you, instead of leaving you to work it out yourself. Also, he is very understanding when we need help.” - Charlotte, student, age 8.
Parent Testimonials
“James tutored my 8-year old twins during lockdown, as part of a small zoom group of 5 children. It worked very well, and the girls looked forward to their twice-weekly sessions. We all knew what to expect because James sent out the materials in advance, then the meeting invite, and then feedback. When I listened in, I found the class was completely engaged, and even laughing! Online tutoring was new to all of us, and James managed the class (and the parents!) efficiently and calmly.” - Sarah
We would highly recommend James, to tutor your child. Within minutes into the first English class, we could hear our daughter happily talking, which we were rather surprised about but we're extremely pleased to see because our child is usually very quiet and shy.
James is not only very interactive and engaging when he teaches, but he is also very positive and has a way of connecting with each and every student on his zoom tutorial lessons to bring the best work out of them.
After our first zoom lesson with James, we did not hesitate to book more weekly lessons, not only for English but also for Maths.
Our child is happy - and always looks forward to James' online lessons - we as parents can’t be more delighted! – Quyen
‘James has a great rapport with my son and formed a positive relationship with him very quickly. He explains the learning clearly and picks up on what the child needs to focus on. He does a great job at boosting confidence and self-esteem. James communicates well with me to keep me updated about my son’s progress. Would definitely recommend!’ – Natasha
We have had the pleasure of working with James over the last 6 months as he supported our son’s preparation for the pre-test/11plus exams. From the start - James spent a lot of time getting to know our son and cultivating a warm and open relationship with him. Not only is James very bright, but also well-organised, reliable, adaptable and responsive. It was very easy to communicate our concerns/areas of needs - which he addressed promptly and comprehensively. I would highly recommend James! – Erica
I focus my lessons around discussion, as opposed to dictation, aiming to build a strong, two-way relationship with my students as opposed to forcing a rigid hierarchy. My in-depth knowledge of the curriculum and extensive bank of teaching material means I can provide structured support, tailored to your child’s level and goals. Alongside this, I like to give my students the opportunity to focus on or revisit areas they have found particularly difficult.
I am very conscious to keep students engaged and enjoying their work. I view developing an interest in learning as important and with many pupils having a high workload I want my lessons to be looked forward to, not a source of boredom or anxiety. Teaching this way both helps the student enjoy the learning process and achieve top results.
