Hello, I'm Jamal, a second-year medical student, with over 3 years of tutoring experience, specializing in teaching Maths and Science at KS3/GCSE levels. I'm committed to making these subjects engaging and understandable for students, to help them exceed their predicted grades.

Tutoring Experience

I am a registered tutor on another leading platform, and currently tutor several students online at GCSE/KS3 level. Most of my students have booked for the whole academic year, so please get in contact if you would like to book lessons. I have been tutoring students in lower years for over 3 years, providing support on the content, as well as the most important exam techniques. As I completed my GCSEs and A-Levels under the new syllabus, I have understood the changes to the specification, allowing me to teach students ways to tackle different styles of questions. Moreover, I have very good experience teaching students at different stages of their academic journey, ranging from 11+ exams to GCSE and A-Level, at a leading grammar school.

Aside from tutoring, I also have several other skills that are essential to effective teaching. Working as a personal trainer relies on communication skills and patience, which are essential for tutoring. I am able to explain concepts in a way that is easy to understand. I have good experience in time management and organization, which are crucial for achieving academic success.

I focus on identifying each student’s strengths and weaknesses, and tailor the lessons to areas that need the most support. My approach involves a step by step exploration of content, ensuring a comprehensive grasp through simplified explanations. I use exam style questions throughout the lessons, to consolidate the student’s learning. Open communication is key, so I encourage students to ask for help whenever needed. With a friendly and organized teaching style tailored to each student, I also guide them in effective study techniques, addressing an aspect often overlooked in schools.
