Fully qualified and experienced English Language and Literature GCSE and A level teacher. I have also worked as an examiner with AQA, Edexcel and CIE for the past nine years. Supporting students to achieve their goals is my primary motivation and why I love tutoring.
I am now retired from full time teaching and am able to give my time and energy to the students I tutor, which is wonderful for me and very beneficial for students, as I no longer have the reponsibilities of being a teacher, but still have lots of passion and energy for English. Tutoring Experience

I have taught in schools and further education colleges, teaching English GCSE, and I have also taught for both Central Beds Council and Hertfordshire Council, teaching English GCSE to post 16s and adults.
I have worked as an examiner for both GCSE English Language and Literature and AS Level English for eight years and have marked thousands of exam papers giving me the ability to pass on that insider knowledge about what examiners are looking for and how to achieve the highest marks possible.
I have worked full time as a private tutor for eight years and have joined this site from the another well-known tutoring site, where I have many five star reviews that you can access and read, or contact me directly, and I can send you a link to find these reviews.
I have also run ESOL classes for parents in conjunction with local schools.

Tutoring Approach

I am organised, friendly, supportive, reliable and adaptable as well as having excellent subject knowledge. I am happy to provide written feedback and set tasks for students outside of the lessons.
