Hello! I'm Jacob, a passionate educator dedicated to helping students unlock their full potential.
Although I was born in Chester, England I have spent almost all of my life living in Scotland, going to primary and high school in Inverness before then studying Engineering at the University of Glasgow. In my spare time you will most likely find me climbing, hiking and running. I also enjoy music; playing the violin, guitar, and bass.
With over four years of experience as a tutor, in online and in-person lessons, I have had the privilege of guiding students of diverse backgrounds and abilities towards academic success. Focusing on Maths and English for early high school levels up to the SQA Higher qualifications, I've honed my ability to tailor lessons to individual needs, making complex concepts accessible and engaging. Whether it's assisting with homework assignments, preparing for exams, or cultivating critical thinking skills, I am dedicated to helping students achieve their academic goals and unlock their full potential.
My tutoring approach is centred on nurturing students' confidence while providing comprehensive support for classroom content. Recognizing the importance of a strong foundation, I prioritize reinforcing key concepts from the curriculum. Additionally, I tailor my sessions to address specific areas where students may encounter challenges, offering targeted guidance to enhance their understanding. Beyond imparting subject knowledge, I am committed to fostering a positive and encouraging learning environment that builds students' self-assurance. By acknowledging their strengths, celebrating achievements, and providing constructive feedback, I aim to empower students not only academically but also in their overall approach to learning.
