I studied Maths at Oxford University graduating with a BA and an MSc in Mathematical Modelling and Numerical Analysis. After 13 years of working in the City, I retrained as a Maths teacher gaining a PGCE in 2005.
I have taught KS3, KS4 and KS5 Maths in Secondary Schools (including Further Maths A Level). I have also worked in a Prep School preparing candidates for 11+, Common Entrance and 13+ Scholarship examinations.

Since 2007 I have been an A Level Mathematics examiner for one of the major examination boards and I have been a senior examiner for A level Mechanics for the past four years.
I have been a Maths tutor since 2007, teaching privately at all levels with a special focus on exams GCSE, IGCSE, A Levels, IB, 11+, Common Entrance and 13+ Scholarship.
I have extensive experience in preparing children for the 11+ entrance examinations to top London Independent Schools as well as grammar schools.
I am actively involved in the National Tutoring Program which provides catch up to support pupils whose learning has been affected by school closures due to the pandemic.
I have a current DBS certificate.
My tutorials are planned according to the student's individual needs, ability and the examination being prepared for. Success in Maths is dependent on confidence. I aim to create a supportive environment to make my students feel at ease, so that they feel comfortable to ask questions. With clear and straightforward explanations and examples followed by guided practice, a good understanding can be developed and confidence in Maths can be easily boosted.
With individual tuition by an experienced qualified teacher, students can work at their own pace and be guided by someone who can anticipate what they will find difficult. As an experienced teacher I have an in-depth knowledge of course syllabuses and specifications.
Being a current senior examiner for one of the boards means that I have an examiner’s knowledge of exam technique and hence have a thorough understanding of what is required to maximize marks and this will give a motivated student a distinct advantage to achieve the best possible grades.
I am enthusiastic about teaching Maths and set out to help each student to enjoy achieving their goals.
