Imogen has really helped my son with his maths revision over the summer holidays. In particular he has found Imogen's style of teaching really good being a mixture of concentrating on areas he finds difficult and exam practice. He is a lot more hopeful now of getting higher grades.From vinay

If you look at the correspondence between us, you will see that we agreed 3.00 on Tuesdays. However, Vinay only accepted me at too short notice for me to go this week, so he immediately started asking when I could go on Wednesday or what other days I could do.
If you look at the messages between us, you will see that I DID NOT say I would be available more often. I told the student my availability, without promising other days in the week if he missed his slot through late communication.
Please would you not publish this, and can you delete it? It is based on falsehood! I didn't promise him other times! Thank you very much!

Didn't know subject content for AS level for mechanics. Very disappointed.I am sorry that the client Kalajeeta and her daughter (the student) were disappointed. However, I have taught AS Level Mechanics for years and never had a complaint before. The student seemed to have difficulty with comprehending one or two concepts, and I tried explaining but sometimes students do find concepts hard to grasp, and also she was rather unforthcoming about what she struggled with. I do not know what the student was expecting, but she had not come prepared to work on problems for herself, as she had not brought pens or paper to write on and I had to supply them (although she'd brought a question-paper), and she was unforthcoming about what she did not grasp, so sometimes her mother Kalajeeta (who was there for most of the lesson) would ask her what it was she didn't understand. I can understand this with younger children, but usually AS Level students are more open about if they need explanations and don't need their mothers to try and coax out of them what they are struggling with. Also the student unfortunately seemed to be feeling unwell which probably didn't help.
As soon as the student arrived with her mother Kalajeeta, Kalajeeta raised the matter of the fees. My normal fee was £25 per hour for AS Level, but I had told Kalajeeta in the correspsondence before we accepted each other that they could have a two-hour slot for £45 (rather than £50). Kalajeeta asked for a two-hour slot on Tuesday, but as soon as they arrived Kalajeeta said that it was £45 for two hours or £19 for one hour, and that First Tutors had said it would be only £19 for the first hour. I had to correct her on this, which was uncomfortable, but she kept repeating that it was £19 if they only had one hour. I continued to maintain, politely, that it was £25 for one hour or £45 for the two. I do sometimes get clients who try to get a reduction, but usually they are not so persistent and do not claim inaccurately that First Tutors had said they could. In the end we had one hour, and Kalajeeta paid £25.
I am sorry but it is not altogether surprising that she then decided to apply for a refund from First Tutors by giving me negative feedback.

Slightly late on the feedback here but Imogen was excellent! she was a patient and knowledgeable tutor and helped me more than I can say with my A-Level Maths & Statistics studies. I desperately needed help to bump up my grades in this subject so I could go on to university to study a Physics degree and I'm now studying a Master's Degree in Physics, so job well done!From Kulbinder

Really enjoying the tutoring. I feel that I am progressing in a subject that I don't feel confident with thanks to Imogen. She explains everything in basic terms, lots of practice questions to build up confidence in the subject area. I would highly recommend seeing Imogen for Maths tutoring. My daughter was needing help with AS Statistics and Imogen's attitude of going back to basics helped to pin point what my daughter had not understood. She has gone from 48% in her test to 88% in her last test. Imogen is thorough, patient well versed with statistics. Very Pleased with the results after just 6 hours of tutoring. Thank you so much.
