My name is Ignaty. Originally from St Petersburg, Russia, I've lived in the UK for over ten years. I hold MPhil in Linguistics and MA in Political Economy of Russia.
I am an author of a series of Russian language textbooks aimed at A1-B2 levels and available worldwide on Amazon and selected book-stores like Waterstone's and Foyles. My textbooks are used at universities, schools and language courses.
For the last eight years, I have been running a linguistic consultancy helping British businesses get to the Russian market. I frequently talk at various events as well as on BBC, The Guardian, Voice of Russia on doing business in Russia and selling to Russian customers.
In the past few years I have helped a number of people - professionals, entrepreneurs, students - to learn and improve their Russian, and I am looking forward to being of help to you too!
I've got over 18 years teaching experience. I worked in state and independent schools, taught at the University and as a private tutor back in Russia and in the UK.
Having taught business clients (law, banking, SMEs, NGOs) I am confident that we can find your own way into Business Russian even if you've got in a lack of time and frequently go on business trips. We can use Skype for when you're out of country to ensure the continuity of tuition.
Ignaty is an excellent tutor of Russian language with very professional approach. He makes every lesson very interesting, bringing his sense of humour and outlook on the topics discussed in conversations... Ignaty has been an absolute pleasure to deal with right from my initial email to discuss my lessons till current date and I have no hesitation in recommending him to any individual or company who is interested in learning Russian language.
I've been learning Russian for over two years now and I've tried out a number of different Russian teachers from different companies. I can say that, without a doubt, Ignaty Dyakov has been by far the most outstanding teacher. His lessons are professional and extremely fun at the same time thanks to his friendly nature and good sense of humour. Most importantly - for me at least - he will immediately hone in on any problems you have and help you solve them (often without you even realising!). Ignaty is knowledgeable and very well informed about Russian culture; the Russian I have learned with Ignaty has always been accompanied by interesting cultural insights. Finally, I am always surprised at how impeccably punctual Ignaty is given the horrors of the London transport system!
I’d like to recommend Ignaty Dyakov as a professional Russian teacher; I am fully satisfied with his 1 to 1 lessons. For those who prefer to study on their own, but need a tutor to co-ordinate their progress, Ignaty would definitely be your the best choice in London.
Taking this course with Ignaty has provided me with excellent grounding in the language and has been a highlight of the last couple of months. He has the patience of a saint (!) and is exceptionally knowledgeable. It’s incredibly helpful that Ignaty has such extensive multi-lingual capabilities. His enthusiasm and knowledge has inspired me to explore the Russian culture further to the extent that my next holiday is being spent in St Petersburg. Thanks Ignaty!
I have been having private Russian Tuition from Ignaty for a period of 4 months during which I received outstanding education from a highly qualified, intelligent and pleasant individual. The lessons were result focussed, fun and interesting. Besides learning the language itself, I also learned a lot about the actual Russian culture. I can highly recommend these language courses to anyone who requires to be conversational in the Russian language in a short period of time.
Thank you, Ignaty. I really enjoyed these several months of lessons. They were really useful.
Our lessons will be tailored to your needs whatever aspect of Russian you want to improve (grammar, conversation, reading, writing or just help with your school or University homework). I can help you prepare for GCSE and A-levels.
I normally use a communicative approach.
