Private Online Maths Tutor

I have been successfully tutoring secondary school students and adults at GCSE and Level 2 for twenty years. I am passionate about helping students to be confident in their maths and to achieve or exceed their maths goals no matter how they feel about it generally.
I have considerable experience in working with those who have learning differences such as autism, dyslexia etc. and adults who had bad experiences of maths at school. Throughout my tutoring career, I have been very successful.

Tutoring Experience

I have taught maths in a range of settings where many students had real problems with maths.
I have been a full time tutor for over 15 years with all current teaching being online. I can help with GCSE,, BTEC HNC , Functional Skills and other maths units as well as Functional Skilss
Students who are struggling when I meet them generally feel more confident and progress to pass any exams, whether or not their regular teacher thought they could do so. In some cases, previously 'struggling' students have gone on to A level
All my exam students last year were happy with their assessed grades.
I have worked successfully with students on the autism and dyslexic spectra and some with ADHD

Tutoring Approach

Currently, I am using Zoom and an electronic whiteboard called Bitpaper
As a maths tutor, I strive to explain maths to students in language they understand and get them to keep a notebook to write those explanations in a way they will understand.
I also explain how to work through and answer word questions. Many students avoid these in tests and exams even though they really know the maths concerned. This can easily be the difference between a pass and failure. or between a mediocre grade and a good one
