Personal Description:

I am dedicated to helping each individual student to lose any fear of maths, to be more confident in working with it and to progress along their chosen path of study or career.
I have been consistently successful in raising grades and/or enabling those with a range of SpLD's to pass where teachers have doubted that possibility.
Several students have joined me seen by their schools or themselves as poor at maths and ending up going forward to A level
Would be teachers of many backgrounds have succeeded in passing the QTS test and others have managed to pass career related numeracy tests such as UKCAT.

Tutoring Experience:

I have been tutoring Maths for 17 years.
All my school students receiving results in August 2017 attained or exceeded their targets.
A History specialist got an A in A2 Maths and an AS level student got 100% in both M1 and C2 .
All my QTS students passed and my UKCAT students were pleased with their scores

Tutoring Approach:

I specialise in helping:
1.Those with poor memory, slow processing and /or aspects of dyslexia, dyscalculia, and other barriers to learning maths.
2. Those with difficulty interpreting new style problem solving questions
3. Adults who need some maths to complete their training / qualify in a career but find the maths and or the books or notes puzzling to say the least.
4. Those who like maths but have an unrelated favourite topic (arts etc).or are in the wrong group or aren't stretched in their class.
I work with each student as an individual and seek the best way for them to achieve what they want to achieve
I use very wide range of teaching methods and materials; including a lot of colour and as much fun as I can build in, all aimed to help the individual… I regularly attend conferences and am in constant touch with school-based teachers and teaching organisations to stay fully up to date with exam requirements and new teaching ideas.
