Hello there!
My DBS (aka CRB check) is a little out of date. I will get a new one ASAP. I will also update my references section.
I have a few years of teaching experience in college but now just tutor alongside other freelance/self-employed work.
I enjoy working on a one-to-one basis with students of all ages. I find that my tutees gain confidence over time - this helps because a lack of confidence is often a barrier to learning mathematics.
I have been tutoring mathematics since 2012. I have experience with tutee of both primary and secondary age; preparing them for KS2 SATs and GCSEs. I have also taught older students whilst I was a lecturer in Further Education - mainly teaching GCSE resit classes.
Whilst Covid-19 is still a national concern, I am only willing to tutor over video. I appreciate that this can seem a less personal approach, particularly when meeting someone new. I have a friendly approach and find that tutees warm to me quickly.
I will update this once things have calmed down. I have been tutoring via video only for almost a year. I am happy to use whichever video-call service you prefer. Zoom works quite well if we are both using a computer/laptop because I can share my screen with you.
For maths, there are plenty of online resources that I use frequently whilst tutoring.
