I am a highly qualified female teacher with over 20 years of teaching and tutoring experience.

I am a specialist in IGCSE & GCSE, foundation and higher. I have worked as a Head of Maths in a comprehensive school and Head of Year. As Head of Year 11 I was voted 'best teacher' by the students in the year group. I am currently working at a local independent school as a maths teacher and tutor.

I am fully up to date with examination questions, mark schemes and exam technique, including recent changes to the specifications.

In intend to be able to tutor at home again soon. When I do I work in a quiet environment with access to the latest IT resources and past exam papers or online using Zoom and Bitpaper

I am delighted that my most recent year 11 students all exceeded their school targets.

Tutoring Experience

I am a graduate from the University of Leicester BSc Hons (2:1), a.nd have a PGCE from the same university

I started teaching in 2001. In my time teaching I have worked with top set students, SEN students and mature students.

Tutoring Approach

My approach is friendly, patient and calm. I won't blind you with proofs and high brow algebra! I will put together a personal programme with the intention of getting you the best grade possible, be it a C or an A*.

I am a firm believer that it is not a teacher's academic qualifications which you should be looking at, but their manner and ability to get a point across in several different ways. The reason students perform well for people is because they like and respect them, and the feeling should be mutual!

At the moment I have very limited availability, in the evenings, but do have availability for longer 'booster' sessions during half term, or daytime availability.

I do not tutor several different subjects, this means I am fully focussed on getting students the very best GCSE grade possible.
