I graduated from The University of Reading with a mathematics degree in 2015. I have a passion for mathematics and understand the satisfaction that can be gained from learning and understanding simple and complex maths. I enjoy working with people of all ages and hope to help and inspire students, particularly in such a useful and diverse subject.
I have been working as a full time Private Maths Tutor since 2016. I have built up a list of regular students. I tutor mostly GCSE & A-Level students but I have also recently started tutoring 11-14 yr olds for GCSE preparations. I have been able to not only improve their grades but also help them with their confidence within mathematics.
I like to have an informal approach to teaching and try to create a relaxed and comfortable atmosphere. My aim is to make each lesson as fun and enjoyable as possible. Each tutoring experience will be different and tailored to the needs of the student.
I believe that planning an initial meeting (which is free of charge) prior to our first lesson with the student and parent is beneficial to deciding what areas to concentrate on, which will maximise learning time and ensures the student and myself are comfortable and happy to start lessons.
During this initial meeting I will ask what areas the student feels they need to most help in and I will also give them a short quiz to do in their own time to help me establish what areas we need to focus on and I can then tailor the lessons to the student.
