Hi, my name is Hayley and I am a passionate and friendly English tutor.

I achieved my Bachelors degree with First Class Honours, my Masters degree by research and my PhD was awarded with no corrections.

I specialise in nineteenth-century literature and science but I have broad research interests and am motivated by a genuine love for literature.

Tutoring Approach

I have a patient and methodical approach to teaching. Stress and lack of confidence are factors which are severely detrimental to learning and retaining information. I therefore aim to keep all sessions relaxed and enjoyable, tailored to the needs and learning style of the individual.

In our first session we would establish your needs (or the needs of your child) and your preferred style of learning. If you aren't already sure of your preferred learning style this is something we can work out together. I will then tailor future sessions to you to ensure that your needs are being met efficiently.
