Hi, my name is Hannah. I am an enthusiastic, passionate primary school teacher with over 10 years experience within a variety of education settings. I provide fun, thoroughly planned and ambitious lessons for my pupils and am trustworthy and reliable. I love teaching and helping my pupils to be challenged and excel, and most of all love learning!

Tutoring Experience

I am a qualified Primary School Teacher who has several years’ experience teaching in Years 3 and 4. In addition I have been tutoring children between the ages of 6 and 12 in Maths and English as well as for the 7+ and 11+ entrance exams. I have a wide range of experience with children with English as an additional language as well as with children with a variety of needs, including ADHD, ASD, Speech and Language and Dyslexia. I specialise in Maths tutoring and use a wide range of strategies including the use of maths manipulatives, guided practice and questions that allow pupils to deepen their understanding of a mathematical concept.

Prior to becoming a Primary School Teacher I also taught English as a Foreign Language in both Japan and Mexico for over 4 years as well as teaching flute and athletics.

Tutoring Approach

My teaching approach is highly adaptable, tailored to the specific needs, goals, and learning styles of my students. I take great care to design lessons that are not only relevant but also captivating, aligning with each individual's passions and hobbies. My foremost goal is to create a positive and encouraging learning environment, where I utilise positive reinforcement to help my students reach their fullest potential. Building a strong rapport with my students is of utmost importance to me, and I strive to ensure their happiness and eagerness to continue learning with me.

As a current Primary School Teacher, I possess a deep understanding of the primary curriculum and the teaching methodologies employed in schools today. This knowledge equips me to teach and support children in a manner consistent with their classroom experiences. With this unique insight, I've successfully elevated the academic achievements and self-confidence of my previous students, enabling them to perform confidently at the expected level for their respective year groups. For those aiming to excel in entrance exams, I also provide comprehensive support, including exam techniques and ample practice with exam-style questions.
