I have received a distinction in my masters at the Royal Central School of Speech and Drama, where I studied classical acting. Before this, I read English Literature and Language at University College London, which was ranked no.1 in the UK for that subject. In 2014 I founded the UCLU political philosophy society of which I was president; I also have interests in music and sport.
I have been tutoring since 2014. I have worked with groups and one-on-one sessions teaching English language, English Literature, Religious Education, Creative Writing, Spanish, and Theatre Studies (ages 7-17). I also volunteered for two years as a teaching assistant in classes for children aged 6-15.
I generally prefer to begin by recapping on the last lesson, before moving onto a simple warm up exercise. I then spend around 40 minutes on the main task, with a five minute summation game. I strive to tailor my lessons to the pupil's interests and have found this to be very rewarding i.e. someone who does not like to analyse poetry may find analysing lyrics to their favourite song a nice and easy way in.
