Hi, I'm Guy! I am a BA and MSt graduate in History from the University of Oxford, achieving a high First (70) at undegraduate.
I am completing legal studies, achieving a Distinction in the PGDL law conversion course (76) last year. Next year, I will begin a career as a commercial solicitor at an elite US law firm (White & Case).
I currently tutor students for 11+, GCSE, A Level, IB, and university applications. I specialise in the Oxbridge admissions process. I have taught 200+ hours over the past year, through QED Education, U2 Tuition and the Oxbridge Tutor company. I look forward to meeting prospective students on First Tutors.
I am also a lead co-ordinator for an Oxbridge summer school.
I have a clear structure to my teaching, designing a course with regular homework tasks and feedback presentations on PowerPoint during classes. I believe in focusing on core learning points, repeated over multiple tasks, so that the student has an opportunity to learn from mistakes and apply their new knowledge.
I take a results-focused approach. The best way to elevate students' grades is to practise the exam rubric and receive tailored feedback. Take a look an attached example for a flavour of how I provide exam practice and consolidation tasks!
