I am currently a mature student studying for a degree in mathematics at University . I am married with one daughter who is studying for a master degree in physics in University. In the past 3 years, I have helped a number of students achieve their academic goals, whether it is an entrance exam, improving their grades, or gaining a better understanding of maths. I am a dedicated tutor with a passion for maths. I have an outgoing, reliable and caring personality. In my opinion the most important characteristics of a teacher/tutor is to have patience and understanding.

My expertise extends to preparing students for a variety of exams, including, 11+(maths,verbal,non verbal and english), 12+,13+ maths, private school enterance exam, National Curriculum assessments, and GCSE maths exams. Having taken GCSE and A levels (maths, physics and chemistry) exams recently, I can identify students' strengths and areas that need improvement. This enables me to provide targeted guidance to help them overcome challenges and make progress.
I worked as a teacher assistant over a two year period at Perry Hall Primary School, Orpington.
I worked as pre school teacher for one year at Saint Johns Pre School, Orpinton

Tutoring Approach

My approach is to be possitive and enthusiastic about the student's learning. I believe that gaining confidence is the key to being successful in mathematics . Praise from the tutor is an important part of gaining this confidence and provide a supportive learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions, making mistakes, and exploring concepts at their own pace. I give the student the initial assessment to discover their weak and strong areas in maths when I start with them. I use a variety of books and websites in preparation for each lesson.
