I have been an enthusiastic teacher of Maths for too many years and have recently stopped teaching full time, so that I now enjoy both tutoring Maths privately and marking exams, without the pressure of teaching at the same time.
I pride myself in giving paired and individual assistance that is both friendly, informative and good value. I can help equally those working toward GCSE and young minds with tables and thinking skills. I like to help improve confidence and methods of working, and encourage pupils to take pride in their work.
I have taught for 18 years in a variety of different schools at all levels from year 8 through GCSE to A-level. As an experienced teacher I have also marked exam papers for 3 education boards, thus I am aware what is required by different exam boards. I am also aware of the difficulties and common errors that many pupils face and strategies to overcome them.
I develop an individual approach to each pupil. I like to follow their understanding of the work and methods they employ and hence build on the skills they have. I have helped many pupils through their GCSE and A-Levels. Yet I also like to specialize in young minds. I can quickly help those struggling with tables, or other numberwork strategies or skills.
Below GCSE I usually tutor in pairs yet give individual tuition; this has proved very successful and I always receive excellent feed-back and success rates.
