My name is Gordon and I am an undergraduate in my final year of a BA Hons Degree in English Literature and Creative Writing.

Tutoring Experience

My current experience is in mentoring students whom require some additional help get back into their studies at a secondary school level. This is done through a partnership program, which works within Secondary skills throughout the U.K.

Tutoring Approach

My teaching approach is to inspire the student to approach an assignment by putting their own voice to paper: How would you approach this situation? Who else would be there? Where would you be, somewhere familiar? What do you notice in this situation, sights, sounds and smells?
This approach to the creative side of the subject helps the student in their understanding of the critical side of things, as they are more able to identify literary techniques such as, theme, setting, and imagery through their experience of using the techniques in a way which is relative to them.
