I am a friendly, warm, personable tutor living in Parsons Green with a degree in Marketing and a Masters in Acting at Drama School. I currently work as an Academic Mentor in a primary school in Kennington, specialising in English and Maths, helping students overcome barriers they have. I have 3+ years of experience teaching Years 4, 5 and 6. I absolutely love my job and working with children which is why I tutor so much in my spare time. I really enjoy keeping active, reading, cycling, playing squash and scriptwriting. Since graduating from drama school, I have developed a passion for creating work and some great achievements of mine have been writing a BBC film and getting some acting credits on TV and Film.

Tutoring Experience

I have 500+ hours of tutoring experience which I have attained over the past two years. I have strong experience in tutoring Primary School level English, Maths and Science online to international students who are living in China. Around London and Reading, I have tutored students for their 7+ and 11+ entrance exams with success - my students have been offered places at private schools in Fulham, Kensington and Knightsbridge. My main passion is for English and Maths because they were my favourite subjects at school and I love seeing children have that lightbulb moment when they come to an understanding of a topic. It's also great fun discussing books with children!

Tutoring Approach

Having been to drama school, I'm all about building confidence in children through being chatty and friendly to make them feel comfortable straight away and eager to learn. I focus strongly on building a rapport with the child so they can understand that it is okay to make mistakes and all part of learning. I like to make my lessons fun and engaging through the use of various props and by getting the child to take the teacher role and teach me what they have just learnt. This helps me see their understanding of a topic and any gaps in their learning. I always bring along worksheets to work through as well as any textbooks that I feel they need.
