My career began teaching chemistry at secondary level. Fortunately, as the fundamentals haven’t changed over the years, I’m able to continue helping students study what can be a challenging subject. As a private tutor, I’m able to offer chemistry, biology and physics up to GCSE level from year 7.
I much prefer to coach face-to-face as this helps me to better engage with my students and pick up on any difficulties more effectively.

Tutoring Experience

Since gaining my PGCE in Secondary Education, I have over 25 years classroom teaching experience and have regularly tutored students on an individual basis. It’s clear that private coaching definitely boosts the student’s confidence and elevates their understanding of the facts and patterns of science.

Tutoring Approach

I use a systematic, focused learning approach to consolidate knowledge and go through questions each lesson to help apply that knowledge.
Nearer the exams, we do past papers together.
