This is how 2 referees rated Gary:
I am currently a Senior Examiner for Edexcel in Geography, EPQ Diploma Dissertation and General Studies and also have been an examiner for Citizenship. I am a senior manager at a successful Sixth Form College in London and teach at the University of London on Saturdays. I have been writing text book sections for the new linear A-Levels starting in September 2016 for Geography.
I have been teaching Geography, Geology and Environmental Science at GCSE / A-Level standard for over 27 years and previously taught English abroad. I have over 27 years experience of private tuition and have worked for the same period of time as an examiner for Edexcel and AQA. I have also helped many private students with ISEB CEE at 11+ for English and 13+ for English, Geography and History.
I have been involved in Geography education in the UK for over 27 years. I have experience of all GCSE, GCE (AS / A2) syllabuses and the new iGCSE / pre-U, IB, CEI and University-level courses.
I have also organised Easter revision classes and conferences and also run a widening-participation programme for A-Level Geography.
I can also offer support for physical geography, geology and earth science up to undergraduate courses and assist with dissertations at undergraduate or Masters level. I can also assist with the International Baccalaureate (IB) course for Standard or Higher Level ESS and Geography. I have extensive resources prepared to deal with the new GCE / GCSE syllabuses starting in September 2016.
I have helped students at all levels from 11+ preparation to Masters Level. I believe in a student-centred approach, which can be tailored by arrangement. I like to develop a mixture of skills, concepts and knowledge. By building conceptual skills and subject-based knowledge and case studies, a student is better prepared for the pressure of the examination. But, good subject and syllabus-focus is essential. My lessons can concentrate on exam practice (using a large bank of resources), case study revision, they can be skills-based (e.g. decision-making, data response) or focus on theory and concepts or a combination of all these. Teaching and learning programmes can be organised to suit personal needs. Some students want intensive 'power lessons', others just want extra exam question practice, some just want someone knowledgable to bounce ideas off!

Gary is very professional and contacts us before every session to confirm availability. He has also prepared work for my daughter to complete so that he is able to assess her ability. We are very happy with him.
I would highly recommend Gary as a tutor. Thank you again!
Sincere thanks to Gary as not only does he have a broad knowledge of the various Geography exam boards and topics but also he knows how to motivate the student and get the best out of them.
I would highly recommend him as a tutor.
Although we live some distance away from Fulham, these journey’s have been very worthwhile.
Being educated at home always leaves a 'gap' in learning and I think, in Gary, we should be able to tackle the A level exams confidently -please!
