Private Online Italian Tutor

Salve
My name is Gaetano, I have worked and lived in the UK since April 2004 when I was just 21 years old. I am a very reliable and analytical person who enjoys teaching the language he is most familiar with: Italian.
I have been away from this platform for a while as I was not able to commit enough time to you all, but if there is something I believe we have all learnt from these tough times, is that we can use a lot more efficiently what technology brings us. I am very happy to say we can now arrange online tutoring using G***le Meet, Skype or Zoom, all three have video call and typing capabilities which are great for our purpose.
Having been away from this site for a long time, I am relatively new, and so lacking in reviews but please keep reading before you move on, because, if you are an adult/casual learner or a professional who seeks to learn some grammatically correct as much as conversational Italian before you go on your business or leisure travel, I can be just the person for you. This also applies if you are studying Italian and need to practise what you are learning on your courses with a mother tongue person.
I can also help with young people who are starting to learn or perfect Italian at schools and colleges. It can be daunting at times and the help of a tutor who is mother-tongue could really help to explain certain expressions and grammatical forms with real-life examples.
About me and my English: by April 2005 I had already passed, with merit, the PET course organised by the University of Cambridge for students speaking a foreign language. Since then and for the last 15 years, I have been working for a leading brand which specialises in vacations and the business travel field. To be able to achieve this, I had to be fluent in both written and spoken English and my level of professionalism had to be very high from day one.
However, you are not here to read about my English or my life, but rather about my Italian.
I completed my studies in Italy at the age of 18, achieving the max score of 100/100 and merit.
Although my main studies were in economics and business Accountancy, from the age of 11 to 18 any school/college in Italy is incredibly thorough and tough on its pupils when it comes to studying the Italian language and its complicated grammar. It was hard at the time, but I am incredibly grateful now because this also helped me perfect my method of learning English later on in life.
Between the age of 13 and 18, my Italian teacher (C.Santoro), pushed us all. I learnt grammar in an unbelievable way, to the point that I am now proud to be one of the few Italians who very rarely gets a verb wrong (such as the “congiuntivo”, subjunctive, which sadly few Italians struggle with, unless they have been highly educated).
My tutoring will vary depending on what level you are at. We will assess that right away, and we will see where to start from, depending on what you need and also on what you expect to learn.
It will not be simply conversational- we will very often be touching on grammar and I will make sure we take the time so that you are feeling confident that you have understood and are familiar with the concept we have just gone through and learnt. Time is not a problem. My main job is in high standard customer service, and so with that in mind, if we need 10 minutes extra one day, I will prefer investing that time with you, so you can leave confident, instead of having to go over it all again the next time I see you.
As much as being a part of the working world, I too am a student myself, so I am able to put myself in your shoes and I can understand and appreciate how hard it can be. I will be there to make your life easier in order to achieve results as quickly as possible. The more fun and role playing there is, the easier it will be for you to remember expressions and pronunciation.
Learning shouldn’t be expensive,
I am very confident you will like my teaching and tutoring methods and so, as you will pay a fee to have my details released, I would like to take this fee off the premium I charge for your first lesson. This way, your first lesson of either one or two hours will cost you less, and you will be able to judge for yourself whether I am good enough for you. I believe every individual is different and the ability to connect and effectively learn from another person is based on human skills, as much as on academics.
I hope to hear from you soon.
Ciao for now, and arrivederci.
